NDC Planning To Rig 2012 Elections With The Help Of Security Agencies?

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reacted angrily to allegations that the Mills-Mahama led administration with the connivance of some security agencies are teaming up to rig the 2012 General Elections. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) had accused the ruling NDC of planning to use some security agencies to rig the 2012 general elections and warned that any attempt to tamper with electioneering process will be fiercely resisted by the partys youth who are ever ready to implement their flag bearer's infamous 'All-die-be-die' comment. In an interview with Shamima Muslim on Citi FM, John Krugu, Deputy National Organiser of the NPP, alleged the NPP has credible information on ongoing nationwide secret meetings between some security personnel believed to be NDC supporters. According to him, the NPP is reliable informed that on the Election Day at some earmarked polling stations in NPP strongholds (Ashanti), ballot boxes will be whisked away to unknown destinations by NDC hoodlums. We have been monitoring what is happening on the ground and we have taken notice of the intention to rig the election in the Ashanti Region and in the Northern Region. We want to give them the message that we are aware of what they are doing. For now, I dont want to go into details what is important is that we are informing them that we are aware of the meetings they have been having.we have mechanisms put in place to monitor all these meetings, he said. The NPP Deputy National Organiser however stopped short of disclosing any of the security agencies alleged to be in cohorts with the NDC. He described President Mills appointees as Nation wreckers who have enriched themselves with the huge loans contracted by government over the last three years, and added that former President Rawlings' description of the Atta Mills appointees as 'Greedy bastards' was justifiable because of their profligate spending. But speaking in an interview on the same platform, Richard Quashigah, the NDCs National Propaganda Secretary described the allegations by the NPP as baseless accusations without any substance or merit. Clearly, the gentleman does not have any information to put out therethey just want to unleash their all die be die agenda by coming up with this fabricated agenda. The NDC will not do anything untoward. They lack basic understanding of issues, he posited. According to him, the allegations being bandied about by the NPP should not be taken light-heartedly and the earlier they (NPP) come up with evidence to support their claims the better.
