A Deputy Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, is calling for a serious probe into the cause of the sinusitis/throat cancer President Mills is said to have contracted and has derisively stated that that medical condition led to him (Mills) mispronouncing Obama and Economy by saying �Omama� and �Ecomini�. Deputy Information Minister, Baba Jamal is quoted in the June 5th 2007 leaked US diplomatic cable that President Mills, then presidential aspirant of the ruling NDC suffers from throat cancer. According to the leaked cable, Baba Jamal is purported to have stated that, President Mills had some kind of throat cancer and was on the mend, although not yet fully recovered. His claims were corroborated by the Foreign Service Health Practitioner at the US Embassy in 2007 who revealed that President John Evans Atta-Mills, then candidate Mills, had throat cancer, and not sinusitis which he (Mills) and his aides would want Ghanaians to believe. Though he agrees in principle that the state of one�s health should not be used as banter, John Boadu said he is baffled by the President�s loud silence over vicious allegations of drug use peddled against Nana Addo by appointees of government Quoting extensively from the Wikileaks expos� with reference to leaked diplomatic cable number 000199, John Boadu, who was speaking on Oman FM, an Accra-based commercial radio station, pointed out that in the same vein Prof. Mills was interested in the health status of former Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua, Ghanaians needed to know what was medically wrong with their President, and urged President Mills to come clean on his health status in the light of the recent Wikileaks expos�.
