REV. EBENEZER OPAMBUOR Adarkwah Yiadom of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre at Ahenemma Kokoben in Kumasi was the toast of celebrants at the �Opemsuo� Festival at Kokofu in the Ashanti region on Saturday.
The man of God, who is affectionately called �Prophet One�, was nicely dressed in a pink suit and he received a rousing welcome when he majestically stormed the durbar grounds.
A stampede nearly occurred when Rev. Adarkwah, who was accompanied by some of his junior pastors, arrived at the cultural event grounds.
Minutes after news of his arrival had gone round, the celebrants including old women left their seats and surrounded the plush Escalade vehicle which ushered Prophet One to the event.
The famous man of God and his junior pastors had a hectic time before they could free themselves of the large crowd that chanted �Prophet One, no size� among other accolades.
After getting to the durbar grounds, the man of God went round the durbar grounds and paid homage to the chiefs and government officials at the event. Rev. Opambuor and his junior pastors then took their seat at the dais.
Some parents at the function ordered their children to kneel in front of Rev. Adarkwah and asked him to pray for them. Prophet One, who looked sober, rose from his seat and prayed for the children before their parents could let them leave. After the event had come to an end, jubilant people jammed Opambuor�s car for several minutes and forced him to stay in the car as he watched them in admiration.
The excited crowd would not let the man of God�s car move until he stood in the Escalade to enable them to have a better look at him.
Rev. Adarkwah had no option but to oblige the request of the excited crowd as he stood in the car and waved at them.
Some of the people, especially the energetic youth, chased the man of God�s vehicle, chanting his name until it finally left the Kokofu Township and headed to Kumasi.
The Opemsuo Festival is celebrated by the people of Kokofu in the Ashanti region to commemorate the birth of King Osei Tutu I, the founder of the Asante Kingdom.
