Ghana FA Rubbishes Germany Friendly Reports

The Ghana Football Association has rubbished reports that the Black Stars are lining up a friendly against Germany later this year. According to a report by SuperSport.com on Monday, German FA was in talks to for two back-to-back friendlies against Ghana later this year. The report even went further to claim that Germany and Belgium had tabled offers to play the Black Stars in November. SuperSport.com also added that the Ghana FA would meet by Wednesday and announce their decision by the end of the month, at the latest. But the Ghana FA boss has rubbished the report on the South African portal insisting there is no offer from Germany to play Ghana. We havent received any proposal on that, Nyantakyi said when asked whether Germany have approached the GFA to play the Black Stars. Contrary to the report, no high level Ghana FA meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday as the GFA chief is in Cairo for CAF Executive Committee meetings until next week. The Black Stars management committee held their last meeting last week with the sole aim of planning for next months matches against Sudan and Nigeria. The GFA has its eyes firmly fixed of the Sudan game as the result will decide whether Ghana would gain an automatic place at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Plans for friendlies in November are firmly hinged on the result in the Sudan game as the Black Stars could start their preparations for the Cup of Nations with matches that month if they qualify. Ghanas likely opponent or opponents in November will be announced by the GFA after the Nigeria friendly in London on 11 October.
