About 500,000 energy-saving bulbs are manufactured by two factories in the country daily thereby helping to save huge foreign exchange which could have been spent on importing such bulbs from abroad. The use of the energy-saving bulbs forms part of measures recommended by the Energy Commission to promote energy efficiency in the country. Dr. Ofosu Ahenkorah Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission said these at a workshop organized by the Energy Commission at Aburi for journalists. He said the Energy Commission has put in place a strategic national energy plan for the country to ensure efficient energy supply and usage. In order to obtain information about the reliability of service provider in the electricity supply industry, Dr. Ahenkorah said the Energy Commission will soon launch a designated toll-free short code for the public to channel their complaints to the commission.
