NDC Thugs Threaten To Kill Richard Larbi

A driver who was not paid by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) after engaging his services during the partys Sunyani congress, now lives in a state of fear after some party people threatened to kill him for exposing the NDC in bad light. The defenseless 207 bus driver has officially filed a complaint with the Sunyani police yesterday. The sad aspect of it is that the police seem to be playing politics with the case since they had left the defenseless man to his fate without attending to his complaint. Richard Larbi, the 207 bus driver, was yesterday (Tuesday) approached by three Machomen at the Sunyani Magazine area who threatened to end his life for telling his sad story to the media about how the NDC has badly treated him. The three well-built men told the poor driver that they know his house and family and everything about him and for that matter he should expect the worst thing on my life. According to him, true to their words when he returned home in the afternoon he met two men at the entrance of his house who suspiciously stirred at him. He said the two guys stood there for sometime without passing any comments. He said when he gathered courage and approached them and enquired their mission at the house, they indicated that they were not looking for anything so he asked them to leave the house since it is a private place. Mr. Larbi was among many drivers whose vehicles were hired by the NDC during its July presidential delegates congress held at the Sunyani Coronation Park. He was tasked to convey party supporters and delegates from various locations to the congress grounds with an agreement of paying him GH100 at the end of the day. However, after faithfully discharging his duties, party officials have failed to pay him, a development which has threatened his job since his car owner believes he has secretly gone for the money and used it. According to him, he has made countless unsuccessful efforts to get his money from the party officials to the extent of going the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Kwasi Oppong Ababio, the Regional Chairman, Opoku Atuahene and the wife of the Regional Minister, among other kingpins, but nothing has come out of that. He was at a point in time almost assaulted by party faithful at the party office after he had gone there to chase his money. Though NDC officials in the region have confirmed the story, they seem not prepared to pay the driver what he had worked for.
