Prophet Nabbed For Posing As Policeman

A 26 year-old prophet of the word of Jesus Christ Church, Kwame Sekyi, also known as Prophet Elisha, has been arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command at Bunso Junction, for impersonation. Prophet Elisha, whose church is situated at Adweso, a suburb of Koforidua, was arrested in a police uniform at Bunso Junction after an MTTU personnel interrogated him and realized he was an imposter. He has been placed in police custody will be put before court on Monday, September 26. Speaking at a news briefing, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, ACP Kwabena Gyamerah-Yeboah, said Prophet Elisha was arrested at about 10:30am yesterday, at Bunso Junction in a Land Rover with an unregistered number DV 6809-11 belonging to someone who offered him a lift. Prophet Elisha claimed that he was staying with a policeman friend from whom he got the uniforms. He said early yesterday morning, after the supposed policeman friend had gone on duty, Prophet Elisha took his uniforms and bolted to Kumasi. He said Prophet Elisha claimed that he had no money and so decided to put on the uniform to enable him to persuade a driver to give him a lift to Kumasi. Prophet Elisha managed to get a lift from a Good Samaritan who was travelling on the Ofankor to Kumasi road and when they got to Bunso Junction, they were stopped by MTTU personnel who interrogated him, seeing he was in police uniform. He said upon further interrogation, the personnel realized that he was an imposter and, therefore, caused his arrest.
