Delay In Payment of Big Brother Amplified Winners Cash Prize

For the first time in the history of Big Brother Africa, issues of payment of the cash prize for winners of the biggest reality Television show in Africa is in the public domain. Peacefmonline.coms keen monitoring of the first ever double champions of the show, Karen from Nigeria and Wendall from Zimbabwe, has revealed that there is an unprecedented delay in payment of the $200,000 cash prize for each of the two winners. Nigerian hustler Karen Igho who was perhaps running out of patience, waiting for her cash or that of her secret admirer Wendall, revealed the information on social network facebook. She pasted on her facebook wall, on Tuesday September 20, 2011 with a statement to that effect. The statement headlined: Wendall Still To Get BBA Prize Money, which also linked to Karens personal blog stated; It is now one-and-a half months since the Big Brother Amplified (BBA) reality show came to an end but one of the winners of the show, Wendall Parson, is still to get his prize money for winning the show. Wendall and Karen Igho were supposed to get $200 000 each among other prizes. However, earlier communication with Karen showed that she was also waiting for the money from MNet. Wendall seems to be very unfortunate as some of the prizes he won were stolen on his way back home from South Africa. Up to now, the prizes, which include the latest iPad, iPods and iPhone, have not been found. In an earlier report, MultiChoice Zimbabwe head of Marketing and Communications, Gerald Chinogara told NewsDay that the delays in payment were mainly because Wendall had no bank account in Zimbabwe. Asked if Wendalls money had since been deposited into his bank account, Chinogara said he could not comment on behalf of MNet. Wendalls mother, Gillian Jackson, admitted that Wendall did not have a Zimbabwean bank account when he entered BBA. Wendall did not have a bank account when he entered BBA but he immediately opened one when he got back home, she said. Meanwhile Peacefmonline.com checks from MultiChoice Ghana revealed that they have both received their cash prize in full. Public Relations Officer for MultiChoice Ghana Anne Sackey told Peacefmonline.com that according her bosses in South Africa; they have both received their money and everything that comes with it a long time ago so if we want any verification we should contact the winners themselves. Peacefmonline.com is trying very hard to contact the two winners to find out from them if they have indeed received the money or not. Peacefmonline.com further checks on Karens facebook status few days after the first statement revealed that Webdall has received his money. The second statement headlined Wendall Paid states The 2011 Zimbabwean representative and co-winner of the Big Brother Amplified (BBA) reality show Wendall Parson, has finally received his $200 000 prize money. Wendall, currently in South Africa, said he received the money on Friday. According to the statement, Wendall confirmed this.I always had faith and I knew MNet would pay me as I never doubted them. I trusted them and thats why I never bothered calling them, he said. Furthermore, according to reports, Wendalls mother-cum-manager, Gillian Jackson, said it took a long time for the money to be deposited into his bank account because it came from various accounts. 27 years old free minded Model and dancer, Karen Igho from Nigeria and 23 years old Commercial Pilot Wendall Parson from Zimbabwe were crowned ultimate winners for the Big Brother Amplified 2011 on Sunday July 31, 2011, after staying the big brother house for 90 days, with 24 other housemates from different African countries.
