Kotoko Chairman To Open Soccer Academy

The Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC, Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong, has announced plans to open a Soccer Academy at Beposo in the Sekyere Central District. The goal, he said, is to assist unearth football talents in the area for the development of the sport. Dr Sarpong said this at the official inauguration of �Circle 82� of the Kotoko Supporters Union at Beposo. He encouraged the teeming fans of the Porcupine Warriors to accept to contribute their quota and finances to help strengthen the Club�s financial base. The Chief Executive noted that with an estimated between five and eight million supporters, Kotoko should be capable of mobilizing enough finance not only to support the Club but to even set up its own bank. Dr Sarpong advised the various Executives of the �Circles� to put the interest and growth of Kotoko ahead of any other consideration and to support the management in ensuring the Club gains its past glory. The Omanhene of Beposo Traditional Area, Nana Boamah Kwabi, an ardent fan of the Porcupine Warriors and a member of �Circle 82�, described as refreshing plans by Dr Sarpong to establish the Academy in the area and pledged the total support of the Chiefs and people. He said they would do everything thing and give the needed cooperation to make the dream come true.An appeal for funds yielded GH�3,500.00.
