Ouattara:Mills Is A Very Wise Man

Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara has heaped praises on his Ghanaian counterpart describing him as a very wise man has managed to scuttle a planned rebellion by some aggrieved ex officials under the erstwhile Laurent Gbagbo government. President Ouattara speaking at the World Affairs briefing of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, CSIS, in Washington, USA, said President Mills master-minded Ivory Coasts return to peace. Many refugees, former Ministers, former high ranking officials in the army or in the administration felt that perhaps they could organise some kind of rebellion from Ghana but they did not realise that Atta Mills is a very wise man and he has been very cooperative, I think that he is the President I talk to most over the past months. President Mills after the political stand-off in Cote dIvoire asked members of that countrys Constitution Council, former military generals and some former government officials who had fled to Ghana to seek refuge to return and begin the process of swearing in President Ouattara. President Alassane Ouattara reiterated his commitment to promoting reconciliation in Ivory Coast as a move to restoring the countrys lost image as a hub of peace within the West African Sub-Region. According to him, the former regime under President Laurent Gbagbo did very little in fostering national unity across the country and blamed that for the sharp divisions existing in Ivory Coast today. Ouattaras discussion in the United States focused mainly on efforts of his government to re-build the economy, foster national reconciliation and strengthen bilateral relations with other African countries as well as the challenges presented by the security reforms. He announced that in view of his solid relationship with President Mills he will be visiting Ghana on October 6 to continue discussions on the humanitarian situation of the about 15,000 refugees currently in Ghana.
