Samini...No Shaking

Sensational dancehall artiste Samini has called on Ghanaians not to be overly bothered about the eleventh hour postponement of the Mavado Live in Ghana concert originally scheduled for last Saturday October 1. What happened was very unfortunate and though it was through no fault of ours. I apologize to all our fans and people out there. But let us not let this incident weaken us, rather we should all join hands and have a great show on October 8, same time same venue. Mavado has confirmed that he would be here for the October 8 show and all the other artistes are equally ready for the show. It is still no shaking so Ghanaians should get ready for a mega dancehall concert that has never ever happened in this country, Samini noted last Friday at an emergency press conference to address the postponement of the show. Mavado is currently the worlds biggest dancehall artiste, and he was billed to perform live at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday but the event was called off two days to the show because authorities at the Accra Sports Stadium said they would use the venue for a football match between Kumasi Ashanti Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oaks. At the time the show organizers were made aware of the cancellation, some of the international artistes billed for the show had already arrived in Ghana with their performing crew and dancers and had started full blown rehearsals. Meanwhile, NEWS-ONE has received reports of an ongoing wild gambling over Samini and Mavado as dancehall music lovers are divided on which of the two stars would outdo the other, with a majority of them betting on Samini. Fantasy Entertainment, organizers of the event, has also confirmed to NEWS-ONE that it had received similar reports, with some even threatening to deal with Samini and stop being his fans if he failed to live up to expectation during the show. Mavado is the biggest dancehall artiste currently and he took the position from Vybz Kartel when the latter started sinking following unconfirmed reports that he was bleaching. Samini however is more accepted in Ghana and is reputed as the king of dancehall music in the country. The two artistes clashing on one stage on the same night has therefore raised a lot of anxiety and many have reportedly bet huge amounts of money on who would get the loudest audience response on the night. Fantasy Entertainment told NEWS-ONE that Samini was aware of the development and had promised to put up a splendid performance. Mavado, the organizers have said, will share the stage with an impressive select core of local and foreign artistes including Nigerian crooner Fidei Ranks, VIP, Buk Bak and others who will ensure back-to-back performances all night. Fantasy Entertainment is noted for the highly-impressive Rick Ross concert that shook the foundations of the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre months ago, and has promised a re-enactment of the flair and quality that came with their first event. The Accra Sports Stadium will definitely come alive on Saturday.
