MTN Sponsors Odwira Festival

The Management of MTN Ghana on Friday present= ed a cheque for GH�5,000 and assorted items towards this year's celebratio= n of Odwira Festival by the chiefs and people of Akropong-Akuapem Traditional Area. The items are GH�1,000 worth of MTN re-charge cards, a hamper of dri= nks and MTN branded souvenirs. Presenting the items on behalf of management, Mrs Naabea Asante, Senio= r Manager of Mobile Money, said management was grateful to associate itself with the celebration. "MTN deems it a pleasure to always partner our traditional leaders a= nd their people to celebrate their enriching legacy," she added. Mrs Asante said management was sponsoring all the festival adverts in the print media, the grand durbar, Akwaaba jam as well as a football gala for Larteh Odwira. She noted that management had declared the month of September as data month to create awareness about the enormous benefits of internet and data service. "This initiative is to help shift focus on voice service to data and propel Ghana into the digital age," Mrs Asante added. She encouraged all customers to take advantage of the various data service provided to enrich their internet mobile service experience. Mrs Asante announced that management had launched the MTN business structured to offer small and medium enterprises the needed Information Communication Technology support, expressing the hope that people in the community would take advantage of the facility to boost their businesses. Nana Egyri Aggrey, Mawerehene, who received the items on behalf of Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III, Omanhene of Akropong-Akuapem Traditional area expressed gratitude to the management for the support through these years i= n the celebration of the festival. He urged management to continue their good work of promoting the celebration of festivals and culture in the country. This year's celebration begins on Monday, October 10 to be climaxed with a grand durbar on Friday, October 14.
