Yusif Chibsah is the latest Ghanaian player to call on Coach Goran Stevanovic to give him a look in for a place in the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The 27-year-old has been enjoying regular playtime for his team Gefle IF in the Swedish league � a major requirement for national team call-ups under the current Ghana coach.
Chibsah, who insists the Swedish topflight is as competitive as the other league�s in the top European countries believes alongside the other Ghanaian players in the Scandinavian country, at least deserves some attention from the Serbian trainer.
�I don�t want to talk much but then I believe I am good enough for a national team call-up because in the long run I am a Ghanaian,� the ex Kotoko player told Ghana-based Melody FM.
�The league here is very competitive and there is another Ghanaian player here who even qualifies to play for the junior team.
�Therefore I urge the coach to also come here and monitor us and then eventually give us also the chance to come and prove ourselves.�
The defensive midfielder who had also played in the Israeli league rose to prominence while playing for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko on the local scene.
He is best remembered for the key role played in Kotoko�s march to second place in the debut season of the Caf Confederation Cup where the Reds lost to rivals, Hearts of Oak in the grand finale at their own backyard.
He also captained Ghana�s Olympic team to win bronze at the All Africa Games in Nigeria under Coach Ralf Zumdick in 2004.
Chibsah�s last appearance for the senior national team was in 2009 when the Black Stars beat Uganda 2-0 in a pre-world cup qualification friendly match in Tamale.
