Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang popularly known as Pusher has disclosed to the press reasons why he had been off screen for some time now, after last week's press premiere of the movie, Little Affairs". Pusher told this reporter that he had been in South Africa studying Drama. I went to study drama in South Africa because my grandmother used to tell me that, in life anything you want to do you have to do it and do it well. When you enter into a profession, whether it is your leisure pursuit or your full time job, you have to do it to perfection, he said. Talking About his take on the state of Ghana's movie industry, he said that acting had become very competitive, because gone were the days when it was very difficult for one to overtake those at the top but now it is a different story today. Pusher would go for Majid Michel and Lydia Forson as the best actor and actress respectively, adding that Lydia Forson is very talented but because she hadnt gotten the opportunity to star in many movies people have not seen more of her abilities. He also used the opportunity to correct a faux pas made by some media persons with regards to an interview he had granted on his opinion on who Ghana's best actress was. I hardly make comments, but it has become necessary to correct a few points regarding my interview with the media. ON MY OPINION ON GHANAS BEST ACTRESS! Honestly part of what I said was reported however some were not reported. To be fair, some interpretation given to the media was not what I said or was clearly misunderstood. When questioned, I made it clear that Jackie was indeed Ghanas Grandmama (Guru) in acting (female), and indicated for that matter that I could not even bring her into this assessment -a Legend, my legend if you will, in Ghanas acting world- however I thought that the likes of Yvonne Okoro, Lydia Forson and Nadia Buari are some of the best actresses we have in the country. Certainly, Lydia Forson has been one of my favorites and the fact that I perhaps dwelt a bit on that part of the interview takes nothing away from the brilliance we see from the rest. I can`t believe the headline some media people wrote to send wrong signals which I thought wise to make clear" he said. He added that he thinks some sections of the media have not been fair to him and it is making him regret granting the interview. By Mustapha A Inusah/Attractive/Ghanasuperstars.com
