NEWS-ONE has received a video recording of a young lady by name Myriam, confessing that she has been contracted to come up with a story that she had been raped and subsequently kidnapped by Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Opambour Yiadom, leader of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center. NEWS-ONE has gathered that the said video has been attached to a petition which would be delivered to the National Media Commission (NMC) and the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) this week. The lady is believed to be in her mid thirties and according to the video, she was approached by a Kumai-based radio broadcaster who also hosts the morning show on a Kumasi-based private radio station (name withheld for now) to come up with a story that two years ago, Opambour raped her in a forest on the outskirts of Kumasi and tore her beads and skirt in the process. Myriam confessed that the aim of the plot was to get some money from Opambour or threaten to go public with the story. According to the lady, she went to the said radio station with a story that she had been raped by a pastor and that during the rape, the pastor tore her beads. Myriam said after narrating her ordeal to the radio broadcaster, he told her that she should rather mention the name of a well-known pastor so as to make her story a big one that would draw a lot of attention and that Opambour would be the best person to carry such an allegation in Kumasi. She disclosed further that the said radio broadcaster then started to say on air that he had information of a pastor who had raped someone in a forest and tore her beads. When NEWS-ONE contacted Opambour on phone over the matter, he said it was true that the said Myriam approached a junior pastor of his church sometime ago that she had a confession to make. �So they listened to her and brought her to me. When she narrated her story, I was shocked and could not believe it. I remember that some years back, the presenter she mentioned had been saying on radio that he knows a certain pastor who had raped someone and tore her beads but I never knew it was a plot against me just for money. �After listening to her, I asked her to put what she was saying on record and I gave her some money to go start a small trading business and stop blackmailing people. As for the rest, I leave them to the God of Heaven who says vengeance belongs to him,� Opambour added. But NEWS-ONE has gathered that Opambour is seeking legal advice over the matter.
