This month�s 2-0 win over Sudan in the Nations Cup final qualifier and the 0-0 draw with Nigeria in an international earned points for the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists.
Spain sit top the overall ranking ahead of the Netherlands, who second and Germany in third place.
The Fifa ranking was largely shaped by a total of 136 matches played in qualifying matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and various continental championships.
