Six Summoned To Appear Before Review Committee

Referee Vincent Otoo leads a five man list plus a coach to appear before the Referees Review panel of the Ghana FA from Wednesday. The committee was set up to primarily review the performance of match officials in the Glo Premier League but have strangely also invited Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu for reasons not readily known. This was communicated in a Ghana FA statement which read: The Panel after careful and critical review of the matches played over the past two weeks has invited the following match officials to appear before it on Wednesday, 19th October, 2011 at 9:00 am. Otoos performance in the leagues opening fixture between Tema Youth and Asante Kotoko has come under intense media scrutiny with many believing his showing on the day was not up to scratch. His assistant, Isaac Effah Tetteh has also been blamed for failing to spot a reportedly clear penalty in favour of Kotoko in the match which eventually ended 1-1. Referee Solomon Mordey who officiated the second week match between Hearts of Oak and Mighty Jets has also been summoned. He was blamed for failing to offer enough protection to especially the Hearts players against a physically rugged Jets team. The others are; Referee J. Amenyah (Dwarfs/Bechem United) and Referee Seidu Bomission (Wassaman/Berekum Arsenal) who will appear on Thursday.
