Teye Nyaunu Is A Nobody

A former General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bede Zieden has taken a swipe at Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya constituency, Hon. Teye Nyaunu. He urged the latter to keep his needless opinions about the return of DFP members to the NDC to himself. According to Zieden, the MP does not play a crucial role in deciding their fate in the party since that resolution, according to him, solely lies with the leadership of the NDC. Zieden said Nyaunu is just an ordinary member of the NDC and cannot decide whether DFP must be freely allowed to rejoin the NDC or given a two-year probation. Nyaunu in an earlier submission during the week had alleged that the DFP and its leader Dr. Obed Asamoah are on a hidden agenda and must be given a two-year probation before the NDC decides to officially accept them into the party. Nyaunu who described DFP members as opportunists added that the fact that members of the DFP left the NDC party during its hard times is a clear indication that they do not have the interest of the party at heart. However, speaking on the Citi Eyewitness News on Thursday, Zieden stated that their decision to return to the NDC does not need Nyaunus approval since the leader of the NDC, President Mills, has sanctioned it. He added that the majority of NDC members have declared their support for them and have not questioned their loyalty to the NDC. Everything is moving on very smoothly, there is no hitch, Zieden said. Mr. Nyaunu is a member of the NDC just like anybody, he does not determine whether we should be trusted or not. That is his personal opinion and there are many of such opinions. There are many people in the NDC who have full confidence and full trust in us. The vast majority of the NDC trust us. I dont know what he is talking about. The leader of the NDC Professor Mills thought that it was time for us to come and as a result of that we had talks which have led us to come back, he cited.
