Mr Prince Ahiadzro, the Volta Regional Chairman of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), has said Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom�s stint as Minister in the New Patriotic Party government was a call for national duty. He said Dr Nduom did not err in accepting the job and cannot be sanctioned by the Convention Peoples Party (CPP). Mr Ahiadzro said this when reacting to the reservations of some party youth attending the Ketu-North Delegates Conference of the CPP at Dzodze. He said Dr Ndoum accepted the appointment after the CPP Central Committee approved a formal written request from the NPP to release Dr Ndoum to serve the state adding that Dr Nduom would have been long voted out, had he flouted any of the rules of the CPP. At the conference, all 13 applicants for various positions won unopposed by a popular acclamation and the executives include John Alornyo, Chairman, Mensah Ahiaxornu and Edzorna Kuzagbe, first and second vice-chairmen respectively, Emmanuel Worname, Secretary and Mathew Afaglo, Treasurer. Mr Ahiadzro commended the delegates for a peaceful conference and called for unity and peace saying through the CPP�s exceptional organizational abilities the Party could win the 2012 elections or at least be the king maker in the event of a runoff. He said the CPP must employ the organizational attributes of women and the youth as done in the early years of the Party to put it back on track of popularity. Mr Mac-Adjettey Sowah, Volta Regional Secretary, said the Party would soon hold executive position elections in the four constituencies of Biakoye, Keta, South-Dayi and Ho.
