Ghana To Play Giants Ivory Coast And Senegal Next Week

The Black Stars will play 2012 Africa Cup of Nations favourites Senegal and Ivory Coast next week in Paris, Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal. Ghana, also much-fancied for continents flagship event to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, will take on the Teranga Lions on 11 November. Both countries will be meeting for the first since 2007 when they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw during a similar exhibition match played in London. Senegal had an impressive run in the qualifiers as they top Group E unbeaten with 16 points-five wins and a draw. The Teranga Lions boast of some of the clinical strikers in Europe including Newcastles Demba Ba, Moussa Sow and Papis Demba Cisse to test the Ghana defence. Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic and his troops will then face the stellar Ivory Coast at the same venue on 14 November. The Black Stars will be out for revenge after a heavy 3-1 defeat to the Elephants in their Group opener at the 2010 Nations Cup finals in Angola. The double decker against the West African neighbours will be an index to measure Ghanas title winning chances even before the tournament kick-starts on 21 January. Ghana won a fourth title at the 1982 finals in Libya.
