Teye Nyaunu Dissociates Self From Apology

Outspoken Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya constituency Michael Teye Nyaunu has expressed his unhappiness with an apology rendered on his behalf to the President by the Korno (Paramount Chief) of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area. He told Citi News that he dissociates himself from the apology because I have not tendered an apology, neither have I made anybody to tender apology for and on my behalf. According to the MP, nobody contacted me and nobody told me anything and then I learnt it was in the dailies and I didnt feel so comfortable with it. Traditionally my Korno has the right to apologise on behalf of his son if the son has done something wrong, but if indeed he has said it then I think the first thing he should have done is to call me to know whether I made the statement or not and then secondly to find out what warranted that statement if I made it at all." Nyaunu added: That surprised me a little bit because he doesnt know the input and he doesnt know what really came about and like we all know, our chiefs are not supposed to be in politics. I am even not aware of what I have said about the President that is bad or that I have regretted."
