MoneyGram Presents Prizes To Winners

MoneyGram Ghana, the local money-transfer company of MoneyGram International, has presented prizes to winners of its Gear Up for School promotion. The company presented six laptop computers and nine schoolbag packs to winners of its draw held last week. The Gear Up for School promotion offered the opportunity for customers who receive funds transferred into Ghana to automatically enter a draw to win various prizes -- ranging from MoneyGram-branded schoolbags containing educational materials, to laptop computers. The consumer promotion awarded prizes to over 500 entrants, while the last six lucky customers each won a small and affordable laptop computer that is useful for research and other school-related purposes. Winners of the ultimate prizes included Eugene Mensah of the Trust Bank Post Office branch; Francis Donkor of the Takoradi Main branch; and Bridget Marie Nyamekeh, also from the Trust Bank Harper Road branch. The rest were Elizabeth Boateng, a customer with the SG-SSB Kumasi branch; Richard Yaw Anim of the SG-SSB Accra branch; and Sophia Azanduna of the Kintampo branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank. MoneyGrams Regional Marketing Manager for Anglophone West Africa, Mr. Gabriel Wilson, said education is the only key to improving the living standards and the quality of life of the people in this part of the world, and that it forms part of the companys mission to support such a cause. As a company, we are proud to support education in Ghana with this Gear Up for School promotion, he said, adding that the consumer promotion forms a part of MoneyGrams corporate social responsibility to touch lives in the communities where it operates. Apart from donating over 10,000 notebooks and other school items to selected schools in five communities across the country, MoneyGram has also in partnership with its agents in the country provided a bore-hole for Asuboi community in the Ashanti Region as part of its Lending a Hand project.
