Mills Is "Confused And Desperate" - Sir John

The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has taken a swipe at President Mills describing him as a confused man who is desperate to win the 2012 general elections. His comments follow President Mills warning against warmongering ahead of next years general elections. President Mills issued out the warning when he spoke as the guest of honour at a grand durbar at Anloga to crown the celebration of the Hogbetsotso Festival, the first after 13 years. He sent a strong warning to political leaders and party supporters who intend to foment or incite conflict in the forthcoming 2012 general elections saying his administration will use all the necessary laws available to deal with them. NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has been criticized as beating war drums ahead of the 2012 polls after he recently told party supporters at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology that the NPP must win the 2012 elections at all cost. However, speaking to Citi News, in a reaction President Mills warning Mr. Owusu Afriyie said the President should be prepared to crush members of his own party. The man [President Mills] is desperate, the man is confused, he speaks like he doesnt live in any part of the world". He added that "there are no warmongers and the NPP certainly is not, we [NPP] shall fight and win the elections in the best way that we can. We are not talking about physical fight but we shall continue to talk about the ineptitude of the Mills administration. I believe that if there are warmongers anywhere then Mills should look within his own party.
