Ghanaians Must Ignore Sir John - NDC

A member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team Felix Owusu Kwakye has called on Ghanaians to disregard comments made by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that President Mills is a confused and desperate man. In reacting to President Mills warning that he would use the law to deal with persons who intend to foment trouble ahead of the 2012 elections, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said the President made those comments out of desperation. However, Mr. Owusu Kwakye says the Presidents statement came at an opportune time because opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been making inciting comments in the past few days. According to Mr. Kwakye, President Mills was well in his remit to issue such a warning especially when, Nana Addo has been warmongering. Perhaps his words have attained much more prominence in light of the warmongering of the NPP flagbearer. I mean if you have the flagbearer of the opposition party stating that all die be die, preaching ethnocentric divisions and insisting that the NPP must come to power at all cost whether fair or foul means, it certainly behoves the President to clear the air on the matter and assure and guarantee the safety of all Ghanaians. Meanwhile, the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has endorsed President Mills comments of no tolerance for warmongers ahead of 2012 general elections. Speaking to Citi News, the General Secretary of the CPP, Ivor Greenstreet said the Presidents call is in the right direction. I think the president is very right in his comments and his sentiments and it reflects what all Ghanaians want to have, a very peaceful 2012.
