United Front Party (UFP) Picks Executives

Mr Kwaku Antwi-Owusu has been elected unopposed as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the United Front Party (UFP). Other members who were also elected unopposed at a meeting in Kumasi were Mr Kwaku Duah, Vice-Chairman; Mr Abdul Kadil Yussif, Secretary; Mr Gyabon Kronchie, Treasurer; and Mr Eric Ekow Atobrah, Organizer. The post of Financial Secretary went to Mr Edward Addai; Mr Emmanuel Appiah, Youth Organizer; and Mr Albert Henry Kwabena Konning, Deputy Youth Organizer Mr Azziz Mohammed was elected as the Public Affairs Officer with Ms. Georgina Oduro as Women Organizer. Addressing the members, Nana Agyenim Boateng, the General Secretary of the Party said UFP was committed to fighting for the economic freedom of Ghanaians through serious industrialization and mechanization of Agriculture. He appealed to all Ghanaians to reject the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2012 general elections and vote massively for the UFP to take over the leadership of the country. He said the UFP has good economic strategies and right governance leadership style to take the economy of the nation to a different level Nana Boateng urged the Regional and Constituency executives to start massive campaign programmes to woo more people into the party for the 2012 general elections. He urged them to avoid backbiting, jealousy, envy and rumour-mongering since such attitudes did not help in the organization of a political party. �I want all of us to work as a team and always remember that no individual is bigger than the UFP. Treat each other with respect," he added. The newly-elected Regional Chairman called for oneness and unity of purpose in an effort to build the party in the Region.
