Akufo-Addo 'Raps' Zongo Communities

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to Muslims to pray for peace to prevail in the country as the nation prepares towards the 2012 elections. Nana Akufo Addo made the appeal when he visited the Dagomba Chief in Koforidua, Chief Abu Adams and the Eastern Regional Chief Imam at a ceremony to celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha on Monday. He gave the assurance that the NPP is committed to peace and would ensure that Ghanaians enjoy tranquility during 2012 election and beyond in order to develop the country. Nana Akufo Addo urged the Electoral Commission to ensure that all the necessary mechanisms are put in place to make the 2012 election free and fair so that all the political involved in the contest would accept the outcome in good faith. He urged the Muslim communities to rally behind the NPP and vote massively to return it to power to continue with the good policies and programmes of former President Kufuor�s administration. Nana Akufo Addo said considering the performance of the National Democratic Congress government led by President John Evans Atta Mills over the past three years there are clear indications that things are not going well. He reiterated his commitment to free secondary education when he becomes President and asked the people to support him. The spokesperson of Muslims chiefs in Eastern Region, Alhaji Mohammed Nurideen commended Nana Akufo Addo and described him as a peaceful man. Nana Akufo Addo later presented bags of rice and cash donation to the Muslims.
