Chief Predicts Victory For NDC In 2012

Nana Tetteh Sernu II, Chief of Apoli Ningo, a small community in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region, has predicted a massive win for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in next year's general election. The Chief also predicted that Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi, the Regional Minister, would this time round win the Achiase Parliamentary seat after two unsuccessful attempts previously. �As you can see the way my people and I are happy, it means we are well prepared to go all out for the NDC government and we know for sure that this government will still win power next year and we will be glad it wins. �We are also going to give you our sincere support as we did for you in 2008 and we know that this time, you will win because we have seen that you have good plans for us here,� the Chief assured. Nana Tetteh Sernu II made the remark when he was welcoming the Regional Minister and his entourage to the community to commission a GH�149,000 six-unit classroom block and its ancillaries for the only school in that community. The chief expressed special appreciation to President John Evans Atta Mills and his government for the kind gesture shown to the community and expressed the hope that many other development projects would be extended to Apoli Ningo. Tetteh Sernu II appealed to the government to extend electricity to the community, construct a modern staff quarters for teachers, construct additional boreholes in the community and rehabilitate roads leading to the community. Dr Apea-Kubi disclosed that government had awarded contract for the rehabilitation of the roads in the area and urged the people in the community to take the education of their wards seriously so that they would grow up to be responsible citizens to help the country. Nana Baffour Mensah-Takyi, the Birim South District Chief Executive (DCE) also called on the people of Apoli Ningo to live in peace and harmony, especially as election 2012 was drawing near. He also entreated them to massively register when the biometric registration exercise commenced.
