Why Is Nana Addo Hiding The Fact That He Attended Oxford Univ? - Editor

Editor of the Daily Post newspaper, Mike Dokosi has thrown down the gauntlet challenging the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prove that their flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo was not rusticated by authorities of the Oxford University for smoking marijuana. According to him, since the NDC has come out to clarify that President John Evans Atta Mills did not obtain First Class from the University of Ghana contrary to claims by a Deputy Minister of Information, Baba Jamal; it is incumbent on the NPP to also come out and clear the air. The Office of the President on Saturday confirmed that Professor Mills had a second class upper from the University of Ghana. Professor Mills had a Bachelors Degree and Professional Certificate in Law in 1967 at the University of Ghana. Many reports of the presidents scholastic acumen suggest that he obtained a first class during his undergraduate studies. It would be recalled that Baba Jamal, earlier last week buttressed claims that President Mills had a first class, and used that as a basis to cast aspersion at NPPs flag-bearer Nana Akufo-Addo, who had a third class in economics in the same year at the same university, arguing that Prof. Mills would make a better president than Nana Addo. The NPP flag-bearer, addressing the Tertiary Education Students Conference (TESCON) of the NPP at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi last week, called for visionary leaders who think big, act big and do big things to develop the country. But according to Baba Jamal, the NPP flag-bearer does not have the impetus to talk about intelligence and vision when he emerged with a third class from the University of Ghana. It is a statement of fact that they (Mills and Nana Addo) sat in the same classroom but one had first class and the other had third class, he added. Prof Mills had his doctorate degree at the age of 27 years, he taught law for 25 years and was the boss of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for ten years whiles Nana Addo was just a lawyer, he said on Asempa FMs programme Thursday. Speaking in an interview with Alhassan Suhuyini on Radio Gold, Mike Dokosi said: It is time for Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo to set the record straight. NPP has been silent and we are asking them to tell us.we are calling on the NPP to attack this issue in the same way they attacked the NDC and Professor Mills. Why is he hiding the fact that he attended Oxford University? Its not on his CVhe could only make a third class even though he was from a good background and had everything he neededif a presidential candidate was sacked for smoking wee or marijuana, the question is has he stopped?... a person who smokes marijuana has not got control of his mental facultiesthey need to let us know so that we make the right choices, Mike Dokosi added.
