TWO TIME African Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko are still a household name on the continent, Executive Board Chairman of the club insists. Dr. K.K. Sarpong proudly stated that the fabulous club had not lost its immense popularity on the Africa continent. Kotoko had been handed an invitation to play a match in commemorating the golden jubilee anniversary of the independence of Tanzania. Two clubs in Tanzania including Simba FC would put a team together to face Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Dr. Sarpong said the invitation to play in Tanzania alone was an indication his club was still one of the most respected and popular clubs on the continent. Kotoko, he said, by the invitation, are expected to parade a 30-man contingent to travel to Tanzania on December 8, 2011. Dr. Sarpong said Kotoko was currently studying the invitation to play in Tanzania and would take a decision on it very soon.
