Veep Promises Massive Road Works In Northern Ghana

The Vice President John Mahama has said that the Eastern parts of the Northern Region will be witnessing massive road infrastructural development to aid development. The Vice President made the comments when he joined the chiefs and people of the East-Gonja District in Salaga to pay their last respect to the departed Kpembe-wura in the Northern Region. Having traveled to Salaga on one such bad road the Vice President indicated that government has sourced funds from varied ends to ensure that the road network in the Eastern part of the northern region to be developed. �We went and we got an African development facility for it; almost a hundred million dollar and work is about to start on the Sola-Fofosu road, in the say way we have a Turkish facility for the Tamale-Matango road, we also have 250 Brazilian road for the eastern corridor road. "And so very soon you will see major road works beginning in this eastern part of the northern region. � He revealed Meanwhile the Vice President has paid glowing tribute to the Kpembe-wura and advised that a peace initiative he was following up on, should not be abandoned for peace to reign between the Gonjas and their neighbors.
