Disqualified NDC Parliamentary Aspirant Petitions Party

A disqualified NDC Parliamentary aspirant in the Wa East constituency is to petition the party headquarters over his disqualification. Mr. Mohammed Saani Seidu is furious about the reasons given by the vetting committee which inferred that he is not a member of the ruling NDC. Some aggrieved NDC youth in Bulenge on Monday vandalised party property in the constituency due to the disqualification of their preferred candidate. According to them, the constituency executives are imposing the district chief executive, Amin Salifu, on them as the partys candidate. He is the only candidate out of three to have qualified from the vetting that took place on Monday. Seidu in an interview with Citi News noted that he has been treated unfairly by the party. He added that his only option is to petition against the decision. Meanwhile, one of the three NDC members who were arrested by the police in the Upper West region has been released. Two of the suspects were arrested in connection with threats on the NDC regional secretary Eric Dakura while the third arrest followed a scuffle involving some supporters of the DCE for the area and some irate NDC youth. Some of the protesters on Tuesday morning stormed the Wa Regional Police Command to protest the arrest of their colleagues.
