Tano NDC Threatens Skirt And Blouse

DEPUTY MINISTER of Water Resources, Works and Housing Dr Hanna Bissiws quest of becoming the Member of Parliament for Tano South is under threat. A section of NDC supporters in the constituency situated in the Brong Ahafo region have registered their displeasure at what they say are derogatory comments made about them by Dr Bissiw. Xfms correspondent, Owoahene Addae who spoke with some of the angered constituents reports that the people are threatening to vote skirt and blouse if Dr Bissiw stands as the NDCs candidate for the area. They are also accusing her of dividing the rank and file of the party within the constituency ever since making her intention to contest known. She will need our votes in 2012, but she is casting aspersions on us. We do not want her as our MP. She has divided the rank and file of the party in the district. We will not accept her as our MP and will not vote for her if she stands as the partys candidate, they told our correspondent. When asked if anybody was behind the protest, a leader of the group responded in the negative stressing if we need to win back the seat, Hannah Bissiw should not be the one to contest. Hannah Bissiw has recently constructed a constituency party office complex at Bechem. Ever since making known her intention to contest the Tano South parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the NDC, the deputy minister has come under fire as members of an anti-corruption group called the Forum for Public Accountability (FoPA) recently called for her head over charges of corruption and abuse of office. The group has filed a petition at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) against her. It also asked the President to relieve her of her post pending final determination of the petition before CHRAJ.
