Mornah Bites NDC's Mosquito ...

The General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention, Bernard Mornah, has disagreed with his counterpart from the ruling NDC over the much-talked about biometric verification for the 2012 general elections. According to Mr. Mornah, the introduction of biometric verification would prevent the repetition of the massive bloating of the voters register. Conversely, the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, had argued that the current challenges with the countrys electoral process had to do with the security of the ballot boxes and not verification of electorates. Mr. Mornah, however, insists that his counterpart got his argument all wrong. According to him, the Electoral Commission in 2008 told all Ghanaians that the voter register was bloated by over one million Ghanaian voters. He added: If we had the process of verifying, we would have been able to eliminate those who registered and those that caused a crunch in the political process so it would have helped enormously in taking away the one million plus voters that were added onto the electoral register. The suggestion that we need to beef up security, our security is always there.
