A six-year-old boy on Thursday met his untimely death at New Tafo in the Eastern region after a woman, believed to be mentally unstable attacked and butchered the young boy to death.
The woman was said to have chased the boy whose identity is not yet known with two other friends before catching up with him and slain him with a machete.
An eyewitness, Isaac Amoh Asare, who narrated the ordeal to Citi News said the police have since detained the suspect who nearly got lynched by an angry mob. Amoh said the boy in his bid to get away from the mentally deranged woman fell into a gutter where the woman had the opportunity to slay him.
According to the eyewitness, the boy was rushed to the New Tafo Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
