The wife of the NDC National Chairman, Comfort Adubea Adjei, has told Citi News she will not campaign for the newly elected parliamentary candidate of the NDC for the Akropong constituency because the latter is not a true member of the party.
Mrs. Adjei, who was beaten by Margaret Ansah at the NDC parliamentary primaries held over the weekend, said the winner was sponsored by the incumbent NPP MP for the area, W. O. Boafo with a whopping amount to campaign against her.
She said she will campaign for President John Evans Atta Mills in 2012 but cannot do same for her own parliamentary candidate.
�W. O. Boafo knew that if I had won, I would have overtaken him, I would have removed him from the seat and we actually heard some of the NPP people holding white handkerchiefs dancing on the streets, rejoicing that if I had won they would not have won the 2012 elections,� Mrs. Adjei stated.
�W. O. Boafo actually came in and gave the lady some amount of money, we were told it�s around 250 million, so that was what they were distributing there on the ground. �
She added: �I don�t understand why if you are a true NDC, you should allow yourself to be used by NPP. We�re still going to work hard for our president.
�If what we heard was true, then I don�t think you can be half NPP and half NDC and if what we heard on the ground was true, there�s no need for me to campaign for an NPP person or somebody the NPP can influence."
