The NDCs Parliamentary candidate elect for Jaman South constituency in the Brong Ahafo region, Major (Rtd) Boakye Gyan has promised to reconcile Jerry John Rawlings and President Mills ahead of the 2012 general elections. He is convinced that the NDC will need the support of its founder to win the 2012 elections for which reason every effort must be made to get him on the campaign trail. Speaking in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FMs Kokrokoo Morning Show, Genera Mosquito as the NDC General Secretary is popularly known, noted that the party will look forward to receiving help from any quarters towards a united NDC. too much meat does not spoil the broth so if anybody thinks he can be of immense help to the party aside contesting as an MP, it is welcome and we look forward to that, he added. Asked if the former Spokesperson for the defunct Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (ARFC) is a member of the NDC, the NDC Chief Scribe replied that Major Boakye Gyan met the requirement of the partys constitution and flippantly added that should you (Sefa Kayi) or former President Kufuor decide to join the NDC, you can contest as MP on the partys ticket after serving for two years in the party. NDC constitution states that before you can contest for a parliamentary seat, you must have been a member of the party for two years before you can file your nomination, therefore Im sure Boakye Gyan qualified that is why he contested, he added.
