The general secretary of the CPP, Ivor Greenstreet, has said that the party has and will not sanction a purported National Executive Council meeting slated for November 30.
According to Greenstreet, the leadership of the party has intercepted an unsigned request for the proposed meeting by an unidentified group.
He told Citi News it is the party that calls for such a meeting at the request of one-third of the membership of NEC.
�What has to happen is that those individuals of the unidentifiable groups need to present a petition of its signatories to the party for the party to verify the signatories to make sure we have a discussion about venue, agenda and logistics,� he said.
�Then a special notice to all members of the national executive council [is given], so that whatever meeting is determined we can all come together to have proper deliberations,� he explained.
He said that the NEC meeting is a formal meeting and therefore any attempt to have a �bogus kind of NEC meeting will render the entire deliberation null and void. �
