Adenta MP 'Steps Down' After Reports Of Intimidation

Reports reaching Peacefmonline.com indicate that the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta Constituency, Hon. Kofi Adu Asare, will not represent his constituents on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in next year's general elections. It is however unclear if the soft-spoken MP will go independent. The MP is said to have told the media that having succeeded in winning back the Adenta seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he believes he has accomplished his mission and the time is ripe to hand over the baton to another person to continue with the good work he (Adu Asare) has started. Hon Adu Asare pledged his unflinching support to the eventual winner of the primaries to be held early next year. His decision to back off, peacefmonline.com understands, was not in good faith but as a result of some irreconcilable differences. The NDC MP, according to sources, received cold shoulders from some bigwigs within the NDC when he declared his stance on the defunct STX project, calling for the abolishment of the project. Peacefmonline.com is yet to confirm the speculations from Hon. Adu Asare. More soon.
