Abudus hail Otumfuo

The national Spokesperson for the Abudu royals in Dagbon, Ziblim Iddi, has endorsed the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutus call for politicians to stay away from the protracted Dagbon chieftaincy crisis. At a grand Durbar to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Juabenhene in Kumasi over the weekend, the Asantehene asserted that the NDC and the NPP were largely to blame for the difficulty in resolving the Dagbon crisis. Dr Ziblim says the Asantehenes call is in the right direction but blamed government for using State security to support the Andanis to execute what he describes as an illegality, referring to the recent enskinment of the Savelugu chief to adduce credence to his stance. If you have a government that is supposed to be an honest broker in the peace process taking sides on the traditional matters as far as the enskinment of the Savelugu chief is concerned it does not augur well for the peace in Dagbon, he noted in an interview. He added: What happened in the last two weeks in reference to the enskinment of the Savelugu chief by the Kampakuya-Naa was an illegality carried under the guise of the state apparatus through which the military and the police provided protection to the Dagbon Regent to go ahead with the enskinment. Meanwhile Yahuza Gomda from the Andani gate has described Otumfuors call as insignificant to the Andani royal family. He also sees nothing wrong with the performance of funerals and the replacement of new chiefs for the vacant areas.
