DSP Kofi Sarpong's �Agyenkwa� Launched

One of the country�s outstanding gospel musicians, DSP Kofi Sarpong, has launched his second album titled �Agyenkwa�, an Akan word which means �Saviour�, at a colourful ceremony at the Kanda Presbyterian Church in Accra.DSP Sarpong is seen as an inspiration. With the release of his second album, he has indeed proven to his fans in Ghana and beyond that he has really come to stay. Presently, the inspirational singer�s latest CDs have hit the streets and are selling like hot cake in Accra and other regional capitals. All the songs on the album which have mid-tempo gospel tunes often referred to as music for the masses, enjoy considerable air play. The album�s hit track, �African Borborbo�, which has caught up with many Ghanaians, especially in the Volta, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions, is a unique mix of neatly arranged lyrics with sensational and inspirational rhythms. DSP�s album launch attracted a large a number of music stars including Funny Face, D Cryme, Ohemaa Mercy and Cecilia Marfo. The album launch, which was powered by Media Excel Productions, headed by Ernest Kwesi Ennin, attracted a large number of stakeholders in the music industry as well gospel music lovers from all walks of life. The talented gospel singer burst into the music industry late 2009 and in 2010, he grabbed the Gospel Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards. He was also nominated for the categories of Gospel Artiste of the Year and Discovery of the Year. He recently returned to Ghana after a six-week tour of America and Norway.
