Watch What You Say; Veep Warns Politicians

The vice President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has called on politicians to guard their tongues as the nation moves into 2012, an election year. According to the Vice President, there is the need to be cautious to ensure that after 20 years of practicing democracy, Ghana will not be plunged into a situation where all the gains will be eroded. He made the remarks when he addressed the end of year prayer gathering of the Womens Aglow at the independence square on Saturday. The women who were drawn from all ten regions of the country, gathered to thank the Lord for His mercies and also prayed for the 2012 elections. While commending them for their efforts, Vice President John Mahama admonished politicians from both sides of the divide to guard the political process by their doings and not jeopardize it. Recently the political temperature in Ghana has been heating and people from various political divides have made statements that might be inflammatory saying that Ghana can become like some of these other countries that are witnessing unspeakable violence, I say we refuse it in the name of God. I refer to all politicians who speak to James 3 because there we are admonished to watch our words, lets be careful of what comes out of our mouths.
