Woyome Is An NPP MemberYES, He Bought A Car For Me, But Sir John

General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has confirmed grapevine reports that embattled NDC financier Alfred Agbesi Woyome, the man at the centre of the GHc 58m judgment debt, gave him a car; he however, explains that Mr. Woyome bought the car for him somewhere in 2004 after he (Afriyie) rendered legal services on his (Woyome's) behalf. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie claims he has been good friends with Mr Woyome since 2003 and even served as his legal counsel during that period on numerous cases. Responding to claims by the Central Regional Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs that the NDC guru lavished gifts of cars and other items on some NPP members, including, Sir John, the NPP General Secretary confirmed the allegation but stressed that it was wholly untrue since the vehicle in question was meant as payment for legal services rendered. He also added that since the NPP was booted out of office in 2008, he has never been in touch with Mr Woyome. Interestingly, the NPP Chief Scribe said for all these while, he knew Mr Woyome to be a member of the NPP fraternity and the revelation that he is an NDC staunch activist and bankroller came to him as a huge surprise. Ive known Woyome for about eight years from 2003, Ive walked and played with him as a friend and a lawyer but weve not been in contact since we lost the 2008 election. And yes, it is true he bought a car for me but it was for services I rendered to him in 2004I provided legal services for him among other jobs and between 2004 2006 he has been part of the NPP fraternity, so for me at that time I didnt see him as an NDC member so if he says he is NDC, that is his own business, he said.
