Social media traffic is expected to hit a record low come 2nd January 2012 as large numbers of social network fanatics gear up for the first-ever Social media Tour and Games.
The event, dubbed The CrossOva is the historic maiden edition of a possible annual event to promote healthy living, tourism and encourage socialization among various Social network groups and Social media.
Event organizers, Social Media Inc. revealed that this year�s event features selected Accra-based Social media and active groups of Social Networks including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and WhatsApp. Other media outside the capital are however expected to be involved in subsequent editions.
Buses will be made available to convey participants from Accra to destination Volta River Authority club house, Akosombo to socialize and challenge other groups in the main event; an inter-group competition in various games including Swimming, Pool Table, Tug-of-Peace, Basketball and Soccer competitions. A year�s bragging rights are at stake for the overall victors.
To wrap off the event, a short trip to the breath-taking Wonder Island is in the offing, where organizers will treat participants to an after-event jam session. The CrossOva is powered by Choice 102.3 fm, Africanpromo.com, Ghananie.com and Ghanacypher.com.
