Nana Addo: I'm One Of The Most Vilified People By The "NDC's Gutter Press"

Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Election 2012, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is undaunted by the negative media blitzkrieg and denigration by the gutter press of the NDC, he says. According to him, it is a small price to pay in order to achieve his objective. Nana Addo, who was addressing a press soiree at his Nima residence on Thursday night, lauded the allocation of GHC1 million in the 2012 budget to set up a media fund, but however expressed the hope that the money would be used for its intended purpose and not to influence journalists in the country. Expressing appreciation for the role the media played in 2011, the NPP flagbearer urged them to be more professional in the coming year. I want to use this occasion to congratulate you and to say more grease to your elbows to continue this way in the larger interest of our nation and our peopleI say so even though I continue to be one of the most vilified people in certain sections of the press of our country, it doesnt worry me, I think all of us have a price to pay, if it is a little price for me to pay to have the NDC gutter press to go on with their case I dont worry about it, he said. Nana Akufo-Addo also waded into the controversial GHC 42m paid to NDC stalwart Alfred Woyome as judgment debt, and was critical of the Mills-led administration doling out such a whooping amount of money to one person while the majority of Ghanaians continue to wallow in abject poverty.
