Nana, Alan Mourn NPP Chairman

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate joined thousands of his party faithful to mourn the death of the Manhyia Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Osei Mensah, at Ash Town in Kumasi last Saturday. Also in attendance at the solemn event to mark the one week celebration of the death of the NPP Chairman were NPP gurus including former NPP presidential aspirant Alan Kyerematen. The Manhyia sitting Member of Parliament, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh aka Napo, as well as the immediate former MP for the constituency which is considered the world bank of the NPP in terms of votes, Dr. Addo Kufuor, were also present. Former government officials under the NPP regime, national, regional and constituency executives of the NPP as well as other known politicians from the other political parties were also in attendance. Every available space in front of the ex-Manhyia Constituency NPP Chairmans house at Ash Town, where the event was being held, was covered with people clad in mourning clothes. As tradition demands, Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP big wigs that graced the event moved round the funeral grounds on arrival to shake hands with the bereaved family. As has been the normal occurrence in Kumasi whenever Nana Akufo -Addo visits the city for any event, NPP faithful clad in party colours trooped to the funeral grounds amid shouts of Nana Addos name. The NPP leader, who from the look on his face was not in a jolly mood, perhaps following the death of the NPP Chairman, could not help but raise his hands and respond to the wild cheers from his supporters.
