I Am A Witch Popular Actress Confesses

Popular Akan actress Rose Akua Attaa Mensah, also known as Kyeiwaa, has for the first time declared publicly albeit in a joking manner that she is a real witch, after playing her claim to fame role as Kyeiwaa in a movie titled Kyeiwaa which was later turned into a sequel. Kyeiwaa said this as part of her acceptance speech at the just ended second edition of Ghana Movie Awards, when she won the award for Best Actress In Supporting Role (Local Language) at the Accra International Conference Centre, on Christmas day December 25, 2011. Interestingly, she revealed that she is not the only person in the make believe industry who is a witch. The funny actress went ahead to mention the names of two veteran Ghanaian actresses Grace Omaboe, popularly known as "Maame Dokono", and Grace Nortey also known as "Obaa Genge" describing them as senior witches. In a jovial manner, Kyeiwaa said before she came into the movie industry she really admired the two of them whenever they acted witch-related movies and wished she could be one of them, adding now that she has into the industry and doing similar things to the appreciation of the public, the award being conferred on her "is a testimony to the fact that they transferred the witchcraft to me." Kyeiwaa who showed a few steps of the azonto dance when her name was announced, walked to the stage dancing and after she received the award, held it up and flippantly said, Yes I am a witch but the real witches are Grace Nortey and Maame Dokono. The two of them were the real witches in the movie industry before I became a witch, to the bewilderment of the audience. Anytime I saw them on screen, I was so overwhelmed not knowing that they were going to hand over their witchcraft to me. Clutching her hand rather tightly, Kyeiwaa jokingly said So the witchcraft Grace Nortey and Maame Dokono gave me is what I have in my hands right now. This is it everybody should look at it.
