Martin Amidu - The Most Disgraceful Attorney-General In The History Of Ghana

Mr. Martin Amidu, the supposed Attorney General and Minister of Justice appointed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) President Mills led administration is not just a stooge of backward of the Ghanaian political elite but the biggest disappointment and embarrassment to discerning persons in the NDC party and the government at large. Exactly! Martin Amidu has shown that he is particularly spineless and is most vulnerable to even the slightest of pressure. The man has shown that he is clueless. He has shown that he lacks the capacity to address the very serious challenges confronting the most sensitive department he occupies in the country. And what is even worse is that he has surrounded himself with similarly clueless characters. Many Ghanaians especially the yearning and waiting NDC sympathizers believed that Martin Amidu was a different breed from the backward cabal that had held Ghanas justice delivery hostage and rather went on a vindictive spew of jailing innocent citizens for the better part of the last NPP administration but he proven otherwise. They thought that because he was with the Rawlings PNDC able leadership with a very strong passion of fighting corruption and criminals in the society he could represent that refreshing change from the past. But, the meek looking lawyer has proven to Ghanaians, Present Mills and NDC loyalists that he is not the change the country needs and in fact, he is the worst Attorney General that a ruling government has ever foisted on Ghanaians to oversee that justice is prevailed in our country. In a press statement issued by the incompetent A-G, he exposed himself to a shameful ridicule of the public that he cannot take any reasonable step on his own but only sits in a sleeping mood waiting for some people to pull him to act. This press release has been necessitated by three telephone calls from Bawku in the Upper East Region, Burma Camp and Tema both in the Greater Accra Region on the 9th January 2012 expressing support and urging caution for my personal safety because of the cowardly, malicious and libelous attacks against my well established reputation and integrity as a lawyer, a politician and the Attorney-General of the Republic of Ghana by a partisan and rented NDC press group who perceive that I am not performing the duties of my office in their partisan political interests, this opening statement of the A-G is a vindication on the NDC Pro-media calls for his immediate removal for his gross incompetent. Mr. Amidu has no direction. He is the first A-G only for sleeping instead of doing the work he has been constitutionally mandated to execute without fear or favour. What is he hiding? The biggest challenge facing the NDC government is its inability to successfully prosecute former criminals of the past Kufours wrecking administration. He has done nothing to bring his so-called years of experience as a lawyer to bare. Statements, statements everyday, but nothing to show. What we want is experience that can be transformed to actions and not to be directed towards writing of immature press statements. It is sad that the sleeping and do nothing A-G could nurse the courage to describe the NDC Pro Media who pioneered his appointment to his recent position as the gullible and rented. The worst is that the acclaimed so-called experienced lawyer has no shame to state that he is as reckless to the extent of allowing confidential and official documents be leaked from his ministry to civil servants and some enemies of the government. Very ignorant to the NDC principles he states I wish to assure the members and supporters of the National Democratic congress who are still unequivocally and resolutely committed to the original ideas of the 31st December revolution of Freedom, Justice, Probity and Accountability:, enshrined in the preamble of the 1992 constitution that I remain steadfast to those principles, ideals and commitments as the foundation of the fourth republican constitution. I remember the gallant men and women who laid down their lives in diverse ways that this country must live and serve the cause of the majority of the ordinary people whose sweat has consistently been exploited by the elite and elitist politicians in the name of service to the people. What Martin Amidu does not known as a claimed experienced lawyer is that the original ideas of the 31st December revolution of Freedom, Justice, Probity and Accountability that he is referring to are only functional if a government led by its A-G is able to investigate and prosecute wrongdoers as we have with the past administration. These Principles are strictly not for sleepers or jokers. Period. Either you sit up or honourably resign as a failed A-G.
