Dismissed A-G Has The Option Of Going Into Farming Or Fishing

A self-styled social commentator and political watcher, Owula Mangotey, has posited that the former Attorney General (AG), Martin Amidu, can either go into farming or fishing now that he is no longer the AG, adding that he (Owula) is willing to make an arable land available to him. Mr. Amidu was sacked last Thursday for what the Office of the President termed, misconduct" at a meeting last Friday, January 13 2012 presided over by His Excellency, President J.E.A. Mills. According to a statement signed by the Chief of Staff, J. H Martey Newman, Mr Amidus behaviour is incompatible with acceptable standards expected of Ministers and Appointees of the President. Speaking as a panelist on Radio Golds Alhaji and Alhaji, Owula Mangotey said though it is unfortunate for Ghana to lose the services of such an industrious person like the former A-G, his dismissal should serve as a lesson to every government appointee that despite his calm demeanour, the president is not "weak". its just unfortunate the circumstance under which Ghana had to lose a hard working, trained personit is just regrettable that over these last few days, he slipped. If he was voted as the Vice President was that how he was going to behave? he could go farming or fishingThe lesson of Martin Amidus conduct should be a lesson for all appointees the fact that the President might be lenient does not mean that he is weak; nobody should take him for grantedTherefore if any appointee is doing anything dubious, he or she should take a bow before the President gets to them I wish him well, he can go and farm; I can make lands available for him...as for politics, you can take a fall, but you have to keep a cool head and move on, he said.
