Mpiani: NPP Officials Justified Not To Appear Before EOCO

A former Chief of Staff under the Kufuor administration, Kojo Mpiani says members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who refused to submit themselves before the Economic and Organized Crimes Office (EOCO) during the investigations were justified. Mr. Mpiani has accused EOCO of pre-judging the case before it begun investigations into the matter. In an interview with Citi News, he said members of his party will subject themselves to any public enquiry apart from that of EOCO. He said Ghanaians are angry with the NDC government due to the expos from the EOCO report adding that the NDC must deal with the report rather than deliberately trying to implicate ex government officials in the Kufuor administration. I am not a lawyer but my common sense tells me that EOCO realized that what has happened is wrong, it affects the present government and Ghanaians are angry with the present government Kojo Mpiani said. Kojo Mpiani has also recommended a thorough investigation in the payment of some 400,000 Ghana Cedis to the wife of Chief State Attorney, Nerquaye-Tetteh as stated in the EOCO report that was submitted to President Mills on Thursday. Who paid her that amount and for what workas a nation we have problem we look at everything on partisan basis. Something has happened with this government we must be bold to call a spade a spade he added.
