A former Attorney General of the erstwhile NPP administration, Joe Ghartey, has denied knowledge of being invited to appear before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament today over a contractual agreement between the government of Ghana and Construction Pioneers (CP). Today�s edition of the Ghanaian Times newspaper reported that the Public Accounts Committee requested the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Betty Mould-Iddrisu and Hon. Ghartey to appear before it for questioning on Thursday. They are expected to explain the contractual agreement between the government of Ghana and CP that led to the non-disclosure of Government of Ghana liability of 80 million euros. Speaking to Citi News, Hon. Ghartey said he has not been officially invited to appear before the Public Accounts Committee. �I also read it in the papers but I haven�t received any official invitation,� he stated. Meanwhile, Hon. Ghartey has maintained that Mr. Woyome, the prime figure in the controversial GhC51 million judgment debt, did not have any contract with the Ghana government to merit the whopping sum.�I have said in public that Mr. Woyome did not have any contract with government and he never made such claim when I was the Attorney General,� Hon. Ghartey reiterated.
